For four generations and 24 years, the GR Supra has personified the thrill of driving. From 1978 to 2002 the iconic Supra has been exclusively crafted to create a rarefied realm, where driver and car become one, in search of the ultimate driving experience.
The GR Supra's wheels house high performance Brembo brakes and are shod with special Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres, sized 255/35 at the front and 275/35 at the rear. The striking design of the lightweight ten-spoke 19-inch alloy wheels is finished in polished black.
In any sports car, the seats are one of the most important points of contact. In the case of the GR Supra, its specially sculpted sport seats feature a combination of grippy Alcantara* and genuine leather* and offer seat heating*, electric adjustments and lumbar support for both occupants.
The straight-six cylinder engine is now equipped with direct fuel injection, turbocharging and is mated to an 8-speed paddle-shift automatic gearbox for ultimate performance. Correspondingly, the gear change paddles are conveniently mounted directly behind the steering wheel for complete motorsport style fingertip control.
The new GR Supra owns the road with intelligent and dynamic design. Viewed in profile, the lowest point of the bonnet flows near-horizontally to the rear of the car for an ultra-athletic stance. The low placement of the rear spoiler further facilitates the creation of a low, continuously flowing belt line. Finally, the combination of the rearward-slanting cabin silhouette and forward slanting-underbody epitomises classic sports car styling. The GR Supra can be ordered with the choice of either an all-black interior for a focused, minimalist feel, or a more expressive and individualised black and red combination.
The new GR Supra has been designed to deliver driving pleasure and superlative performance at accessible limits. The generous power of the GR Supra comes from the straight-six cylinder 3.0? engine which is equipped with direct fuel injection, turbocharging and mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox delivering 250 kW of power. The Supra boasts a wide rev range as well as the fitment of launch and traction control and electronically controlled Limited Slip Differential (LSD) which optimises the rear-wheel driving experience. The Sport button, sharpens the steering and throttle response as well as Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS)*comprised of MacPherson struts in front and a multi-link rear. *Available on selected models.
The GR Supra celebrates the passion for performance and the importance of safety in equal measure. The car is therefore fitted with driver, passenger, side, curtain and driver knee airbags and a Pre-crash system with pedestrian detection*. The GR Supra also boasts Road sign assist* which relays road sign information through a camera to the multi-information display and heads-up display* as well as Lane change assist* and Lane departure warning*. Finally, the adaptive cruise control with stop and go* maintains a safe distance from the vehicle in front, by accelerating and decelerating to keep the gap consistent at all times, as well as autonomously come to a full stop. *Available on selected models.
As befits a vehicle with the pedigree of the GR Supra, the vehicle's interior accoutrements reflect the intelligent engineering technology employed under the skin. So, in keeping with the GR Supra's purist philosophy of a simple but sophisticated sports car, the transmission tunnel and gear lever surround is covered in exclusive high-gloss carbon-fibre. For piloting, smart tools such as the Heads-Up Display (HUD)* have been included. This display indicates key vehicle information such as speed and navigation, which allows the driver to keep their eyes on the road and better enjoy the drive. The one-piece, six-lens LED adaptive* headlamps feature integrated LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and turn signal flashers for further safety. *Available on selected models.
