Modern R129 (i-Size) child car seats use height-based classifications rather than weight categories and require children to travel rear-facing until at least 15 months of age. Many R129 seats support extended rear-facing travel beyond this minimum. Rear-facing travel provides enhanced protection for a young child's head, neck and spine, particularly in frontal collisions.
Installation Is Just as Important
A high-quality car seat is only effective when installed correctly.
Depending on your vehicle and restraint, installation may use ISOFIX or the vehicle's seat belt. Always check that your chosen seat is compatible with your vehicle and follow both the car seat and vehicle manuals carefully.
Once installed, check the harness every time your child gets into the car. Straps should be snug, untwisted and correctly positioned.
