In a challenging economic year, the collaboration and partnership between Kelston Hyundai Port Elizabeth and Atlas Security - two locally grown stalwarts, sets a great example of how local procurement can work to stimulate growth in the economy of the city.
Both organisations have a vested interest in the future of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro, and so this is a shining example of how local businesses can successfully work together for the betterment of the Bay.
The fleet was handed over on Tuesday 24 November by Kelston Hyundai’s New Car Sales Manager, David Elkonin to the Operations Director of Atlas Security, Mike Burmeister. “We chose the Hyundai because it fits the exact mold of the vehicle we need; we’ve been struggling for a while to find a vehicle for our technical fleet,” said Mike Burmeister, when asked why the Hyundai Grand i10.
The two local giants weren’t shy when it came to the delivery – the fleet was driven down in convoy through the suburb of Walmer – a traditional Atlas Security stronghold, before making their way via Cape Road to the Atlas Security Head Office in Sydenham.
David Elkonin of Kelston Hyundai is excited to see Kelston cars on the road and describes this as “the beginning of a great partnership with Atlas Security.”
