VW remains the most awarded brand in the Cars.co.za Consumer Awards, as three of our best-sellers scooped up hotly contested titles at the 6th Annual Cars.co.za Consumer Awards.
The Polo won the Compact Hatch award, for the third time in a row. The Golf GTI TCR headed the fiercely contested Hot Hatch category, the seventh win in a row for the Golf GTI. Our beloved T-Cross also defended its Compact Family Car title, winning for the second time this year.
The wins at the 2020/2021 Consumer Awards come after a record-breaking 2020, where the Volkswagen brand in South Africa achieved a 21.6% passenger car market share, the highest in the history of the brand as well as the highest of all Volkswagen markets worldwide. “The fact that the locally-manufactured Polo has won the Compact Hatch category for three years in a row, is a testament to our world-class manufacturing facility in Kariega. I am also incredibly proud of how our compact SUV, the T-Cross, has managed to not only defend its title with another win this year but has become a dominant player in the A0 SUV segment," said VWSA Director of Marketing and Sales, Mike Glendinning.
The Polo is really flying the Eastern Cape flag high and we look forward to more wins in this category. VW has won 19 awards since the inception of the Cars.co.za Consumer Awards.
