Toyota wins coveted "Brand of the Year" award

Third time's a charm for Toyota South Africa Motors as they scooped up the much coveted Brand of the Year award at this year's Cars.co.za Consumer Awards. Toyota first won this title in 2016, took it again in 2019 and has done it, once again in 2021. To add to the winning streak, Toyota also walked away with five category awards: The Hilux 2.8 GD-6 4x4 Legend Auto won the Leisure Double Cab category,

the Fortuner 2.8 GD-6 4x4 VX Auto won the Adventure SUV category. The RAV4 2.0 AWD GX-R took the Family Car category. The Crossover category was headed by the C-HR 1.2T Luxury and the new Starlet 1.4 XR won the Budget Car category.

Unlike the Category Awards which are awarded based on the judges' votes and consumer data, the Brand of the Year of the Year accolade is determined entirely by market data and the findings of the survey – including, but not limited to, the brands’ respective sales and after-sales service ratings. This is a huge win for Toyota as it is evidence of being on the correct path, ensuring customer satisfaction from cradle to grave. Upon accepting these prestigious awards, Leon Theron, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Toyota South Africa Motors said, "We are delighted to accept the #CarsAwards Brand of the Year trophy as well as the five others for product categories. As a company that is entirely committed to providing best-in-class solutions for our customers, we are truly pleased that the market we are serving is acknowledging our efforts. We therefore extend our gratitude to our customers, without whom, no accolade would be possible."
